National Gay and Lesbian Task Force spokesperson Roberta Sklar admitted in an ABC news story that today's young lesbians and bisexuals have a "more flexible view" about sexuality and see it as "a fluid thing."

Thus, while no one knows for sure what causes a homosexual identity to develop, recent research confirms that permanent change is, indeed, possible. In 2001, Dr. Robert Spitzer of Columbia University, a strong ally of gay-identified activists, published results from a study of 200 gay men and lesbians who had sought "re-orientation" therapy. Spitzer found that most have been able to achieve fulfilling heterosexual relationships. While his research shows that such change often involves a long and difficult journey, it is nevertheless possible for highly motivated individuals.

Even more recently in 2007, a landmark study was published by Drs. Stanton Jones and Mark Yarhouse which concluded that it is possible for homosexuals to change their physical attractions and that such efforts to bring about change do not appear to be psychologically harmful. Entitled Ex-Gays? A Longitudinal Study of Religiously Mediated Change in Sexual Orientation, this groundbreaking research has been hailed by experts from both sides of the debate as being the most methodologically rigorous to date.

And as more evidence of the fact that people can and do change their sexual orientation, groups like Restored Hope Network  represent thousands of people who have made the choice to walk out of their homosexual and bisexual identities. Similar organizations exist for Roman Catholics (Courage), Mormons (North Star), Jews (JONAH) and Muslims (StraightWay).

Even in the secular cultural arena we see evidence of well-known people who have changed their sexual orientation. Examples of formerly gay-identified celebrities who reportedly have become involved in relationships with people of the opposite gender include actors Anne Heche and Julie Cypher. Apparently, the reality that people can change their sexual identity isn't just a right-wing Christian thing.

Clearly, homosexual advocates and their allies aren't dealing with all the evidence in their insistence that people are "born gay" and cannot change.”

tradition is accused of being a biblical literalist or a homophobic racist, because, in part, of the more fundamental change in our society towards permissiveness, that is, easy divorce, cohabitation and concubinage, abortion, pornography ... and euthanasia. The issue of the homosexual is not separate ... it's all part and parcel of the pandemonium that the permissive movement has brought. We have just licensed all kinds of behavior."

People are born sinners, not gay.  The natural order is male and female.  It is sin which makes one partake in this immoral behavior.

Being gay is not equivalent to being of an ethnic or minority group.  One is creation (ethnicity and melanin distribution), one is a choice.  All sides have a somewhat agreement on this.

The latest theory on the gay gene by those desperately trying to find one is “epigenetics”.  That the parent(s) pass down a genetic marker which presupposes homosexuality, like the so called “warrior gene.”  However, it is acknowledged that homosexuality would be much less of a genetic imprint or marker than compulsiveness, overeating, anxiety and the like.  And many, many people have those genetic markers, yet do not participate or even appear to be unduly tempted in those areas.  Most people with the “warrior” gene never show elevated aggressiveness in any way.

Answering Homosexuality’s Toughest Questions

1)     The Bible never says this is wrong.  The sins of Sodom were pride, fullness of bread and inhospitality according to Ezekiel 16:49.  And Scriptures that refer to homosexual behavior indicate temple prostitution, not regular homosexual relations.  Of course this thinking is destroyed with a cursory glance and study of the Scriptures.

2)     Jesus said some were born eunuchs, Matthew 19:2.  Yes, eunuchs mean no sexual relations, not homosexual relations.

3)    Jesus never mentioned homosexuality, so it must not be important.  No, it wasn’t prevelant, and was abhorrent.  Jesus never mentioned child sacrifice, LSD, rape, or any number of things.  But the principals are given throughout the Bible, which is His Word.

4)    Love is all that matters.  You can’t help who you love.  It’s not hurting anybody.  It’s two consenting adults.  We believe in individual rights.  So what if a person falls in love with a 2 year old, is that ok?  Animals?  And as a society we have marriage benefits in tax law, companies with insurance etc.  It does affect others.  How about children.

5)     I’ve felt same sex attraction since I was young.  I’m sure I’m homosexual.  Because of man’s fallen nature, many different types of sins stalk mankinds fallen heart.  This would be one.  Besides many environmental factors that play into it.

6)    It’s a free country.  Yes, but freedom has limitations.

7)    Should homosexual behavior be criminalized?  It was until recently, or treated as a behavioural disorder until 1973.  America was the most prosperous nation on earth during that time.

Conclusion, homosexuality is an act not a class of persons.  You are granting special rights to those who participate in sin, saying they supersede the rights of conscience and religion.  This has been brought about by a concerted effort of activists and the media, but not by science.  The genetics and DNA of a male who participates in homosexual activity is the same as that of a heterosexual male, and the same is true of females.  Any differences in the brains, or epigenetic markers, of those participating in

In this article, he says:

“Well, as I have said, there is no gay gene. And there are factors more influential than biology. The best data, of course, [comes from the Framingham Study]. If you are a man and you grow up in a rural environment, you are four times less likely to have homosexual relationships than if you grow up in a metropolitan area. That's not left-handedness. If you are a lesbian, you are much more likely to be college-educated. That's not something that happens at conception. My point is that we now know that the environment is very important…It really is amazing ... I mean, 50 years ago [homosexual behavior] was a crime, and now we're talking about [same-sex marriage]. Anyone who wants to stick with the homosexuality are posterior in nature, and caused by homosexual behavior, and are not the cause of the behavior.
